About Melissa

Before real estate, Melissa Dominguez-Martin wanted to save the planet. She earned a BS in Ecological Systematic Biology and worked as a wildlife biologist for the Naval Air Weapons Center in China Lake — but the pull of the Pacific Ocean won out, and she traded the desert for San Luis Obispo, determined to be a broke (but happy) college graduate. What followed was a tour through possible careers: flight attendant for SkyWest, middle school science teacher, social worker. Then she bought her first house, got swindled by the mortgage broker who handled it, and had a realization that changed everything: you could build a great career in real estate without taking advantage of people. She's been proving that ever since.

With over 25 years in the industry, Melissa has weathered every market shift — from the 2008 crash to today's competitive landscape. She started her real estate career in California and moved to Las Vegas in 2004 to be closer to her retired parents. She built her reputation managing REO, HUD, and foreclosure listings, training buyer agents and converting leads from 700+ listing sign calls, before founding the Dominguez-Martin Group, the top-producing team she built and led.

That success led to her recruitment as Managing Broker of Keller Williams Southwest, where she led 200+ agents through the unprecedented disruption of the COVID era. She went on to open the state of Nevada for Aperture Global Real Estate, a subsidiary of LPT, building compliance infrastructure across a combined network of 1,000+ agents. Melissa is an ICON award recipient, and she served four years on the grievance committee — an experience that taught her the biggest lesson of her career: always do the right thing, no matter the cost.

Today, as Nevada State Broker for Equity Union Real Estate, Melissa is leading the company's expansion from California into Nevada, bringing two and a half decades of leadership, compliance expertise, and agent development to build the brokerage's presence in a new market.

Family is Melissa's greatest value. She and her partner, David, have raised a blended family of 6 kids, now grown into college students, a social worker, a mortgage licensee, and a Marine Officer. An empty nester, her days are now led by her mini goldendoodle, Chillie Bean, and she stays rooted in her community through youth sports volunteering and her involvement with Central Christian Church.

At heart, Melissa is still that wildlife biologist who'd rather be barefoot in the garden than behind a desk in heels. She finds her peace watching birds, chasing sunsets, and tending what she's planted — but every day, she shows up for her agents ready to weather whatever storm comes their way, roots as deep and steady as anything she once studied in the field.
